For a realistic driving sim, that’s a healthy collection of vehicles and tracks, especially considering that games like Need for Speed Underground have just 20 cars to choose from. With 48 cars and 5 race tracks, this “prologue” could be a novel of its own. Sure, magazine articles and trailers can give players a taste of what your game has to offer, but what Polyphony Digital has done with Gran Turismo 4 Prologue might be the most impressive demo we’ve ever seen. In the game industry, distributing a demo is a surefire way to build hype among fans. There’s a surprising amount of things to see and do in this demonstration, including a closer look at the high-quality car models and a taste of the full game’s excellent Driving School. While the game might be just an appetizer for the full meal that is Gran Turismo 4, don’t discard Prologue just yet. I don't think I would ever leave the house again!!Īnother interesting comment was made by Aston Martin's PR folk who have stated that sales increased after they allowed their vehicles/trademark to be included in GT games. I make this prediction based on current use of satellite images to make 3D 'maps' of cities/locations, used by the military to create a virtual duplicate city for tank units, specops, etc to practice on simulators. Imagine being able to actually pre-drive your route prior to a vacation, especially tricky parts near cities etc.Now taking that thought to the next level, you could have virtual street racing in your neighborhood without even leaving the house! If they are incorporating actual scenery backdrops to GT4 what do you think (for example) GT 9 (year 2010?) would look like? My thoughts, err dreams are incorporation of Mapquest (in years to come). I bought a Electronic Gaming magazine and CRIMSON SKIES: High Road to Revenge.gets an excellent write up! (but I think it's only for X-Box.go figure!). I think I am going to sell it/trade it soon. I have SOCOMII sitting here complete with headset but just can' get into it, no matter how hard I try.although Metal Gear Solid was great (after mastering the skill/practice evolutions).
